A remarkable example of wine from the Basque Country, made from its native grape Ondarrabi Zuri.
Txakoli or "chacoli" is a typical wine of that region, and is characterized by its freshness and pleasant acidity.

Malkoa is a special txakolí, called "de finca" or "pago"; authentic, genuine and with a much longer bottle life than what has been produced so far.

Made with very ripe Ondarrabi Zuri grapes from a plot in the vineyard itself and cultivated with integrated production viticulture, respectful of the environment.
This txakolí remained for 20 months in an ovoid concrete tank, where its lees (yeast) continuously move spontaneously within a space without edges and with the help of the daily thermal oscillation between day and night.
During this time, the wine self-stabilizes and gains volume in the mouth, integrating the rest of the components, and is then transferred to the bottle for reductive aging, which completes its refinement.

The grapes were harvested on October 6, 2015, picked by hand, in small boxes of 7 kg capacity.
The vineyard, planted in 1996, is located surrounding the winery at 250 meters altitude, facing south, on the southern slopes of Mount Ganekogorta, above the municipality of Okondo.

It is a single-variety Ondarrabi Zuri vineyard, trained on calcareous clay soil.

As for the climate, it is an Atlantic climate zone with a marked influence of the microclimate of the Ayala Valley. Average annual rainfall of 899 liters, sufficient sunshine time with an average luminosity in the vegetative process (April-October) of 12.11 hours, and an average of 170 days of south wind. As for temperatures, the average maximum temperature was 18.7º and the average minimum temperature was 7.5º.
