The most cultivated grape in Australia is Syrah (Shiraz). In the island-continent they have managed to adapt this vine to give it personality and "aussie" character.

Jacob's Creek Double Barrel Shiraz is a Syrah from Barossa (the South Australian region that is the epicenter of the Australian Syrah phenomenon) that, after blending, is finished in old Scotch whisky barrels made from American white oak.
The result is an extremely powerful wine, with balanced tannins, slightly dry, and medium acidity.
Decanting it can be a good idea.

It is a wine that calls for meats (any red meat) or even well-seasoned poultry.
